BRU ScreenShots

Screen Shots from the BRU Console GUI for Linux

These images were captured from an X Windows Slackware 8.1 machine.
The backup device was a Quantum DLT 8000.
To view a full sized picture, just click on the thumbnail image.

Login Screen

This is the GUI based console screen that is presented to the user where they enter their username and password to log into the BRU server.
Backup Job Definintions

After the user logs in, the first screen that is seen is the 'backup jobs' screen. This is where you can setup the remote machines (that are loaded with the BRU agent), down to individual files. For this example we are setting up a daily backup job that will be backing up all drives on a Windows 2003 Server to a staging drive defined on the backup server.

BRU Server Monitor Screen

Once the Backup Job has been defined and run, the monitor screen will appear allowing you to view the current status / errors etc for this job in realtime.
Staging Facility

BRU offers an excellent function known as 'staging'. This allows the user to backup everything from complete jobs to individual files to a 'staging area'. For this example we used a 120Gb IDE drive mounted on the BRU Slackware Server as /staging. All backups were sent directly to this 'stage drive'

Database Options

As you can see from this screen shot, BRU has the ability to run multiple jobs concurrently. (eg backup multiple servers to a staging drive at the same time.) The Database screen also gives the opportunity to import tapes, define the Upstage Job as well as various other tasks.
Upstage Job Monitor

Just as we saw on the Job Monitor screen capture, BRU can also monitor the Upstage Job backup to the final destination. Where all defined backups are sent to the final archival device and removed from the staging area.

User Database

BRU allows you to define multiple users. the advantage of this is that users can have allocated stage directory size limits so that they dont fill drives.
Data Manager

This area enables you to view past jobs and their histories, as well as all archival information that has occurred.

Restore

And what good is Backup software if you cant restore!. Here agin you can simply point and click, choose alternate destinations or devices. How much easier can you get!
